We want to create a safe bay where people can meet and interact. A place to find dates, friends, partners, lovers - and community. 

Dating is about sharing playful adventures. Everyone on the Bay platform should feel safe, while exploring their identities, dreams and desires. 

We believe all humans are equal. We welcome all genders, races and sexual orientations and do not accept any kind of hatred or discrimination.


Treat everyone with kindness and respect. 

Be trustworthy and honest. Basically, don't be a d*ck (no matter your gender). 

Have your date send current images by SMS before you meet.

Always meet in a public place for the first date.


Threaten or intimidate other users. 

Harass, bully or spam other users.

Post content which is sexist, racist, homophobic or discriminatory in any other way.

Use Bay for any unlawful activities. 

Promote or advertise sexual services.

Identity and privacy

With the ability to act anonymously on the Bay platform comes great responsibility. We need you to work with us to keep the platform protective and safe for all users. To do that, please abide by these simple rules:

  • Your face must be clearly visible in at least one photo - public or secret.
  • Don’t post any fake pictures.
  • Never pretend to be someone else.
  • Don’t lie about your age.
  • Don't impersonate other people.
  • Always post authentic content.
  • Share only photos and videos that you’ve taken or have the right to share.

It’s never OK to share the following on Bay - public or secret:

  • Pornographic or sexually explicit content.
  • Nude images/videos of others.
  • Images/videos that promote violence such as violent acts, guns, knives or weapons.
  • Gory and graphic images/videos.
  • Images/videos that promote hard drugs.
  • Images/video promoting self harm.
  • Coupon codes & sales links.

If you are using the Bay platform to seek sexual relationships, make sure any image of a private nature is secret/hidden. 

Help us

You can do a lot to help us. You can report any users that don’t respect our community guidelines. To report a user go to the bottom of their profile. If you are matched you can report or block in the Connect section as well. 


If you are blocked or reported by more than three different users, your profile will be disabled. To get your account reopened contact 

If you collude to get other users' accounts disabled for no proper reason, you will be banned from the platform. 

Crimes such as child pornography, promotion of terrorism etc. will be reported directly to the police.

Privacy policy

By registering and using Bay Dating ApS you will provide us, and we will collect, information about you, including information used to identify you. This is what we call your “Personal Data”. This means data that lets you identify yourself directly, like your or your image, or indirectly such as your first name, phone number or your browsing and session data. It is important for you to know how this Data is collected, what we do with it and for how long, so you can be fully informed about your rights. This is why we have prepared this document, which we have tried to make as clear and simple as possible. Who is responsible for processing your personal data?

Bay Dating ApS and our development partner Goco ApS handles all data. No personal user data is shared or sold with or to third parties. Bay Dating ApS and Goco ApS are based in Denmark and are subject to European GDPR regulations.

Bay Dating ApS publishes the Bay application, a social network that enables you to meet people for dating, relationships, friendships etc.

What data do we collect?

In order to operate Bay Dating ApS, we collect the information (i) which you provide to us directly, as well as (ii) data which we collect automatically.

(i) Data you provide to us directly

Registration data: in order to be able to use Bay Dating ApS, you must create an account and provide us with the following personal details:

  • Your mobile number (which is not shared with other users)
  • Your first name, which is visible to other users.
  • Your date of birth: this information will not be provided to other users, although they will be able to see your age. Minors under 18 are not permitted to use the Bay app.
  • You must specify your gender from the list of options in the Bay app. This information will be visible to other users. 
  • Your profile picture: the photo that you choose to use as your profile picture must be of you. This will allow other users to identify you on the Bay app  and allow us to ensure that people do not use false profiles, which guarantees not only the security of the application, but your security too.
  • Some of the data we receive from you can, due to their nature, be qualified as "sensitive." Sensitive data is data considering your health, ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, and sexual preferences. Users are not required to share sensitive Personal Data on their profiles, but they can choose to do so. Sensitive Personal Data will only be used to improve your user experience on the Bay app. No sensitive Personal Data will ever be shared with third parties. All sensitive Personal Data will be deleted, if you choose to delete your profile. 
  • Data concerning your interaction with Bay Dating ApS: if you report a problem to us, request help or exercise your rights, we will process the information you provide to us.
    In addition, in case of reasonable doubt as to your age, we may ask you to verify your age and ask you for the following information: copy of your ID document (which is not shared with other users and is immediately deleted after verification by our teams).
  • Data concerning your activity on the Bay app: when you use Bay Dating ApS, we can collect and process information such as the date you register, the date you last logged in, phone number, your interactions with other users (matches etc) and your profile content. This information will be encrypted on our databases. 
  • We do not track your location (geolocation). Your location on the Bay app is virtual. Your (probable) location can be stated using your phone number and on a geographical map based on your IP address.
  • Data concerning content: the photos and/or videos that you decide to upload to your profile will be visible to all users. Be careful what you share with others and don’t forget that all users can save the content you share and that we cannot do anything to stop this. The same goes for the comments you make on the Bay blogs etc.
  • The messaging service is only available to users who are matched. Messages exchanged between users remain private and are not forwarded to other users or third parties under any circumstances, except in the event of a judicial inquiry and/or in accordance with the laws and regulations in force.
  • Data concerning devices and hardware: Information are collected from and on the devices and hardware you use to access the Bay app such as the IP address, type of device, advertising identifier (e.g. Google’s AAID and Apple’s IDFA, both of which are randomly-generated numbers that you can reset by going to your device settings), application bugs, version and language, operating system, etc.
  • Photos: in order to be able to send and upload your photos from your phone, you must give us permission to access them.

What are the legal reasons why we collect data?

When we collect and process your Personal Data, we may do so for the following reasons:

  • To enable you to access the Bay app and use the services we provide: this actually means that you are performing the contract we have with you, which corresponds to our Terms of Service, which includes this Privacy Policy. For example, when you use the Bay App, we use your data to operate your account, make your profile accessible, suggest matches, send your messages and the content you share.
  • In the legitimate interests of Bay Dating ApS we may use your data if we have a legitimate reason to do so. For example, we process data for administrative purposes, to guard against fraudulent and illegal conduct (e.g.: false age), and to ensure that the application remains secure. We will never share og sell your personal data to third parties. 
  • To fulfil a legal obligation: we are required, for example, to keep data identifying new content and to forward it to the authorities if requested to do so.

How do we use the data we collect?

We collect, use and store your Personal Data in order to process your requests, manage our relationship and your use of the Bay app, optimize our services and tools in order to create and maintain a secure environment, and fulfill our legal obligations, as explained below.

Managing our relationship and access to the Bay app 

  • To create and manage your user account (including access to the Bay app services)
  • To manage and store messages exchanged between users who are matched.
  • To show you in-app offers, content and adverts we think you’ll like. (We will never send you messages on SMS, or other messaging services outside the Bay app, with offers, promotions or advertisements.)
  • To send information message concerning Bay Dating ApS services and your interactions with other users (Notifications)
  • To improve and develop the matching results, techniques, and other functionalities. 
  • Security and fulfilment of legal and contractual obligations
  • To respond to requests from administrative and judicial authorities, law enforcement officials and legal officers, and to abide by court decisions;
  • To identify and prevent fraudulent activity and threats to the security of Bay Dating ApS pursuant to and in accordance with the law;
  • To analyse reports concerning users who have breached our Terms of Use and/or the regulations in force;
  • To improve the safety and security of our services;
  • To enforce our Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy;
  • To counter fraud (for example related to age), confirm your identity, and fight against illegal activity.
  • We may also use Google Cloud Vision API, Amazon Rekognition or other similar services to detect inappropriate content (e.g., adult or violent content) in the photographs uploaded to our platform. That enables us to provide a safe user experience for you by identifying any undesirable user behavior.

How long do we keep your data for?

You can delete your account at any time by clicking on the relevant button in your ‘Settings’. When you delete your account, you will immediately stop communicating your current and future details to Bay Dating ApS and Goco ApS and your profile will no longer exist in our database.

We will only keep your Personal Data for the period of time required to fulfil the purposes for which we process your details unless we are permitted or required by law to keep it for a longer period of time. Generally, we will delete your Data as soon as you delete your account, unless:

  • We are required to retain it as proof that we comply with the legislation in force (e.g. recordings of consent to our Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and other similar consents are retained for five years);
  • We are required, due to an unresolved issue, claim or dispute, to retain relevant information until the matter has been resolved; or
  • If the data must be retained in our legitimate commercial interests, for example in order to prevent fraud and improve users’ safety and security. For example, we may be required to retain data in order to prevent a user who has been banned from opening a new account due to their dangerous conduct or a security incident.

If your age is checked, we immediately delete your ID document after verification.

Who has access to the data we collect?

The data we collect is intended solely for internal use by Bay Dating ApS and our development partner Goco ApS. We will not sell your data to third parties or share them with commercial partners for the purpose of advertising, user modelling or similar. 

Only our authorized Privacy Officer will have access to your Personal Data for the above purposes, and he is only permitted to access the data strictly required in order to carry out platform critical management. 

We will share aggregated and anonymous user data for commercial, statistical, security and research purposes with trusted partners. 

Lastly, the data we process may be forwarded to the police and to the judicial and administrative authorities in order for us to fulfil our legal obligations.

Will your data be transferred outside the European Union?

No, all Personal Data is stored in Ireland, EU. 

How is your data protected?

Bay Dating ApS and Goco ApS will ensure that your data is processed securely and confidentially. Accordingly, appropriate technical and strict organizational measures are implemented to prevent the loss, misuse, alteration and erasure of your Personal Data.

However, no electronic data transmission or storage of information can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Please note that we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us, and you use the The Bay app and provide us with your information at your own risk.

Your rights

You have the right to access your Personal Data and to request that it be corrected, completed or updated. You may also request that your Data be deleted, by deleting your account in the “Settings” section of the Bay app. You may ask to exercise your right to data portability; in other words, your right to receive your Personal Data in a frequently used structured format and your right to send such data to another processor. 

You also have the right to issue instructions as to how your Personal Data should be used after you die. In order to exercise your rights, you will be asked to produce proof of your identity of any kind. You may submit your request by sending a letter to Bay Dating ApS or an e-mail to We will do our utmost to fulfil your requests, but don’t forget that this right is not unlimited and must be exercised according to the conditions of current legislation. 

Any request to exercise your rights should be reasonable. Where necessary, we will explain the reasons why we are unable to meet your request.

It may be necessary to update this Privacy Policy, in particular for us to comply with current regulations, or in case of changes to the way we use your Personal Data.

Welcome to Bay Dating

The Bay Application (the “Bay App”) allows you to search for potential dates, friends, relationships and hopefully find community. 

The Bay App is developed and operated by Bay Dating ApS, a Danish company registered with CVR number 41418990 and having its registered offices located:

1. Acceptance of the present terms & conditions

1.1 By registering on Bay, you acknowledge that the use of this service is subject to the Bay’s Terms of Service that you must accept in order to use our services (the Bay App). The use of our services means that you agree to these Terms. These Terms include the provisions of this document as well as those of the Privacy policy (

1.2 The content of these Conditions may vary from time to time, notably to take into consideration any changes of applicable laws. Any changes will be brought to your attention for their careful review. The continued use of the Bay App following notice of any changes constitutes an express acceptance of the amended Bay Terms of Use.

1.3 You agree that no joint venture, partnership, employment, or agency relationship exists between you and Bay Dating ApS as a result of this Agreement or use of the Service. 

2. Creating your user profile

2.1 If you are under age 18, you are not permitted to use the Bay App.

2.2 To create a user profile and have access to the Bay App, you have to provide us with personal information. You also have to upload a profile picture that represents you. Those personal data need to be provided to access the Bay App and its functionalities. 

2.3 While creating a profile user, you have to provide us with correct information and do not create an account without your own identity. In the event that your access to the Bay App has been suspended, interrupted or somehow blocked or removed by Bay Dating ApS, you are not allowed to create a new user profile.

2.4 Within the framework of the control of the user profiles created on the Bay App and the detection of false ages of users, Bay Dating ApS reserves the right to carry out checks. Thus, in case of reasonable doubt about your age, Bay Dating ApS will proceed to analyze your profile pictures to verify your age and will ask you to send a screenshot of your ID document and/or record a short video in which you state your identity.

3. Paid Services

3.1 The creation of your user profile and the access to the standard features of the Bay App is free. To enrich your experience, you can subscribe to a premium subscription that will give you access to additional features upon payment of a monthly fee ("Paid Services"). The characteristics of Paid Services and their prices are specified in the Bay App.

3.2 The purchase process for Paid Services depends solely on the mobile application platform used and on the settings you have selected on your phone. In order to make a purchase, you must, therefore, have a user account on the platform on which you downloaded the Bay App (Google Play for Android or App Store for iOS). We recommend that you read the terms of use of these application platforms carefully to learn more about the rules applicable to your order. If Bay Dating ApS is responsible in all respects for the content of the paid service purchased, the management of your order and your payment is made by the application platform.

3.3 Once purchased, the Paid Services do not give the right to any refund, even in case of non-use. In accordance with applicable regulations, when you purchase a Paid Service, you expressly agree to have it available immediately and waive your right of withdrawal regarding this purchase.

4. Intellectual Property

4.1 Bay Dating ApS is the exclusive owner of all rights relating to the Bay App and, in particular, the right to host, store, use, display, copy, modify, adapt, publish, edit and distribute all or part of the constituent elements thereof, in particular, and without limit: the brands, logos, designs, animations, videos, images, text, data and databases, computer code, and content published or presented on the Bay App or the websites and services belonging to Bay Dating ApS. Bay Dating ApS is also the sole owner of rights to the brand Bay. Any copy, reproduction, representation, use, distribution, or reutilisation of these elements without the authorisation of Bay Dating ApS is liable to legal proceedings, in particular for trademark infringement.

4.2 The reproduction, amendment, modification (of any kind), distribution, sale, rental, reverse engineering, or creation of derivative work of the Bay App and/or any other constituent element (including software or source code) is prohibited without the authorisation of Bay Dating ApS and/or of the applicable regulations.

4.3 By the sole means of allowing the download and use of Bay, Bay Dating ApS grants users, anywhere in the world, a personal, free, non-transferable and non-exclusive authorisation to access and use the Bay App for private use. Downloading and/or using the Bay App does not confer any rights (intellectual property or other) over the Bay App.

4.4 The Bay App may be subject to change and may be modified at any time. Some functionalities or services may be added or deleted by Bay Dating ApS at its sole discretion. No guarantee of any sort, either express or implied, is given with regard to the content, the services or functionalities of the Bay App, either with regard to their existence or their operation.

5. Third Party content

5.1 Third party content on the Bay App or on provided by bloggers, advertisers or other third party content providers belong to the respective copyright holders. 

Bay Dating ApS may provide third party content on the Service and may provide links to web pages and content of third parties (collectively the "Third Party Content") as a service to those interested in this information. Bay does not control, endorse or adopt any Third Party Content and makes no representations or warranties of any kind regarding the Third Party Content, including without limitation regarding its accuracy or completeness. You acknowledge and agree that Bay Dating ApS is not responsible or liable in any manner for any Third Party Content and undertakes no responsibility to update or review any Third Party Content. Users use such Third Party Content contained therein at their own risk.

5.2 The Service may contain advertisements and promotions from third parties or may otherwise provide information about or links to third party products or services. Your dealings or correspondence with, or participation in promotions of, such third parties, and any terms, conditions, warranties or representations associated with such dealings or promotions, are solely between you and such third party. Bay Dating ApS is not responsible for, and does not endorse, any features, content, advertising, products, services or other materials on or available from third party sites. You agree that Bay Dating ApS shall not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any loss or damage of any sort incurred as the result of such dealings or as a result of the presence of such third party advertisers or third party information on the Service.

6. Content provided by the User

6.1 When you create your profile or you use the Bay App, you will be required to send, receive or create content, consisting of, in particular, information, photos, and/or videos.

6.2 For the operation of the Bay App, and the provision of services linked to the Bay App, you grant us, for the entire world and for the period during which these General Terms of Use between you and Bay Dating ApS are in force, free authorisation to host, store, reproduce, display, publish, translate, adapt and/or use, for the purposes of services relating to the Bay App (I) any content exchanged within the scope of the use of the Bay App, as well as (ii) your user name, your voice and/or your image, as it is reproduced, where applicable, in said content.

6.3 The user accepts entire responsibility for any action, content, information or data which they may upload, download, post, send, or keep within the scope of the use of the Bay App. They will be required to compensate Bay Dating ApS for any damages, losses or expense caused by their words or actions.

6.4 Accuracy of Information. You will not post any inaccurate, misleading, incomplete or false information or User Content to Bay Dating ApS or to any other user. 

6.5 No Obligation to Review User Content. Although you understand and acknowledge that Bay Dating ApS has no duty to pre-screen, review, control, monitor or edit the User Content and is not liable for User Content that is provided by others, you agree that Bay Dating ApS may, at its sole discretion, review, edit, refuse to accept or delete User Content at any time and for any reason or no reason without notice, and you are solely responsible for creating backup copies and replacing any User Content you post or store on the Service at your sole cost and expense. This includes Bay Dating ApS’s right to modify, crop, edit or move to closed sections of Your Profile with restricted access of other Members any photos you submit to comply with Bay Dating ApS’s policies, practices and procedures. By getting access to secret/private images of other Members you understand and expressly agree to receive content uploaded by such other Members which may potentially be sexually explicit.

We remind you that you are not authorised to:

Post unsolicited commercial communications, or collect information, data, or content belonging to other users without their consent.

Post content or broadcast any message that infringes on the rights of third parties (in particular to their intellectual property rights), which may be of a pornographic, discriminatory, racist, violent, defamatory, or sexual nature, and/or which may constitute bullying or intimidation of other persons. To this end we remind you that any public photos of a pornographic, exhibitionist, or indecent nature are formally prohibited. Any publication of this nature constitutes an offence liable to deletion of the user account from which they originated, without prejudice to criminal proceedings which may arise therefrom. Secret images can be of a exhibitionist nature, but we do not tolerate explicit nudity or pornography. Keep it classy!

Use the name, the voice or the image of any person without their permission.

Modify the operation of the Bay App or inhibit its access.

Use the Bay App in an illegal, dishonest, malicious and/or discriminatory manner.

Any manifestly illicit content which may be brought to our attention within the conditions required by law and/or which we judge to be in contravention of these General Terms of Use shall be deleted.  This same shall apply in the case of an injunction to that effect by an authorised administration or jurisdiction.

7. Notifications/Reports

In our quality as host, we are not under a general obligation to monitor the information that we store. You nevertheless have the possibility to notify us of content you consider illicit. To be taken into account, any notification should be sent to:

We urge all our users to report inappropriate content:

  • Distribution of images of child pornography.
  • Apology for or denial of crimes against humanity
  • Distribution of content promoting discrimination, hate or violence against a person group of persons by virtue of their origin, sex, sexual orientation or identity, or disability.
  • Distribution of messages of a violent or pornographic nature, or which constitute an affront to human dignity, or which encourage minors to participate in games which may place them in physical danger accessible to minors, when this content is liable to be viewed or accessed by a minor.
  • Incitement to, or apology for terrorism.
  • Incitement to suicide.

Remember to treat the other members of the Bay community with respect and kindness. Basically, don’t be a d… - no matter your gender. 

In order to allow comfortable, safe use of the Bay App, we have also put in place a system of community moderation that allows you to report any content you feel is inappropriate. If you want to report the content of a user profile that is not one of your matches, take a screenshot of their profile and send it to

8. Personal data

Bay Dating ApS places a great deal of importance on the protection of its users’ privacy. The Personal Data of Bay users are processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy available at

9. Limitation of liability

9.1 We make every effort to ensure the Bay App made available to you is secure and free from errors. However, you use it at your own risk.

9.2 Furthermore, we give no guarantee as to the absence of errors, interruptions to service, slow running, imperfections, or attacks on the rights of third-parties within the scope of the operation of the Bay App, in particular as a result of events on the internet.

9.3 Bay Dating ApS cannot be held liable in case of disturbance, malfunction, or reduced access to the Bay App resulting from failure attributable to the internet network or to an internet service provider, to the operating system, browser and/or device of the user. Furthermore, Bay Dating ApS cannot be held liable for any event attributable to a case of force majeure.

9.4 Access to and use of the Bay App may be temporarily interrupted due to maintenance or technical updates. Bay Dating ApS accepts no responsibility for the indirect, specific, collateral or punitive consequences, loss of income, data or any other loss resulting from the access and use of the Bay App, its content and/or the illicit use by a third-party of the data or other rights of a user.

9.5 Any violation of these General Terms of Use or any use which may present a risk (legal, technical or other) may result in the deletion of the profile of the user which is the origin thereof. In the case of any dispute, Bay Dating ApS is free to decide to block or deactivate the profile of a user and thereby their access to the Bay App, and this at the sole discretion of, and without prior notice by Bay Dating ApS.

9.6 Each user is free to terminate their relationship with Bay Dating ApS relating to the Bay App. They simply need to delete their user profile.
Each user is responsible for the information they provide and the content they distribute during their session and use of the Bay App. The information provided must be accurate, up-to-date, and a true reflection of reality. The content provided by users must be lawful and must not infringe upon the rights of third parties. Bay Dating ApS cannot be held liable for inaccuracies or the erroneous character of content provided by the user and any consequences which may arise as a result.

10. Divisibility And Waiver

10.1 That a condition within these General Terms of Use is declared null, invalid, or non-applicable shall have no effect on the validity and applicability of the other conditions and shall not exempt the user from their duty to comply therewith.

10.2 The failure to demand the execution of a condition in these General Terms of Use, or to do so belatedly shall not be interpreted as a waiver on the part of Bay Dating ApS to demand the respect of that condition by the user or a third-party.

11. Competent jurisdiction – Applicable law

For any claim or dispute, the user is invited to contact Bay Dating ApS in the first instance at in order to allow an amicable solution to be found.

In accordance with article 14 of Regulation (EU) No.524/2013, the European Commission has implemented an online dispute resolution service allowing the independent settlement of online disputes between consumers and professionals within the European Union by extrajudicial means. Any dispute not resolved by the means indicated above shall be resolved at the Danish courts. The laws of Denmark govern this Agreement and your use of the Service. Your use of the Service may also be subject to other local, state, national, or international laws. To the extent that any action relating to any dispute hereunder is permitted to be brought in a court of law, such action will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Denmark, and you hereby irrevocably submit to personal jurisdiction in such courts, and waive any defense of inconvenient forum.
